Professor Amit Singer has been named a National Finalist for Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists. The Blavatnik Family Foundation, with the guidance of the New York Academy of Sciences, founded the Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists in 2007 to celebrate the innovative achievements of young postdoctoral and faculty scientists who work in New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut. Awarded annually, unrestricted cash prizes of $250,000 will go to three of the country’s most innovative scientific researchers. They will also be published in the Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences and be honored at an awards ceremony held each fall in New York City (blavatnikawards.org).Along with Professor Singer, this year two other Princeton faculty were named finalists, Assitant Professor of astrophysics Jenny Greene and Professor of chemistry Garnet Chan.
