In the past few years, a lot of work in representation theory has been put into constructing spaces arising from low dimensional gauge theories. In this talk, we will present from a mathematical perspective a partial construction of one of these spaces, the Coulomb branch of N=4 SUSY gauge theory. In the process, we will introduce various geometric constructions ubiquitous in modern representation theory, like symplectic reduction and affine Grassmannian.
