What's Happening in Fine Hall

We will give soft handed introduction to some geometric nonlinear pdes and discuss notions of singularities for solutions.  We will focus primarily on nonlinear harmonic maps, and using explicit examples try and understand the type of singularities which can arise for both an individual solution as well as singularities which can form for a sequence of solutions.  Given time we will explain the energy identity, which was a conjectural picture on this singularity formation, which was recently solved joint with Daniele Valtorta.
