We explore in detail the “freezing phenomenon” arising when considering the Gaussian Multiplicative Chaos with a supercritcial exponent. Our analysis is based on the construction of the corresponding “cluster process” which in particular yields a new resampling identity for certain Gaussian fields. Our analysis also yields a quantitative form of noise sensitivity in this context.
