A key feature of topological Hochschild homology, or Hochschild homology over the sphere spectrum, is that it admits the structure of a cyclotomic spectrum.  In general, relative Hochschild homology does not admit such a structure.  In this talk, I will discuss joint work with S. Devalapurkar, J. Hahn, and A. Raksit which shows that the Hochschild homology relative to the complex cobordism spectrum in fact does admit such a structure.  I will also try to put this statement in the context of our motivation to study prismatization of commutative ring spectra.
